It was an early start this morning for several Northern Territory riders taking part in the 2026 Wall to Wall – Ride for Remembrance.
A significant moment in today’s gathering was the presentation of the Commissioner’s Baton by Acting Deputy Commissioner Travis Wurst to Constable First Class Darlene Streeter. Darlene is a NT Police Legacy Legatee and will carry and lay the Baton at the National Police Memorial – Australia in Canberra — a symbolic honour entrusted to one rider each year.
Over the coming week, NT riders will depart and travel in various groups from the Police Memorial in Darwin to the National Police Memorial in Canberra. Along the way, they will stop at local police stations and commemorative locations, paying tribute to fallen officers, their families, and the resilience of the policing community. Every kilometre travelled is a gesture of remembrance and respect.
The Wall to Wall – Ride for Remembrance is an annual motorcycle event held each September in the lead‑up to National Police Remembrance Day. Riders from across Australia converge in Canberra for a final mass ride and remembrance ceremony, supporting Police Legacy charities and honouring colleagues who have died in the line of duty.
