Today, as we commemorate ‘National Police Remembrance Day’, we pause to honour and remember those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the protection and service of the community and have lost their lives.
We remember four officers who tragically died in the line of duty through the past year.
National Police Remembrance Day is an opportunity to reflect on the work police do every minute of every day to keep us safe.

Members of the public are invited to attend any of the National Police Remembrance Day services held throughout the Territory this morning;
Darwin
Morning service: A wreath laying ceremony and small service conducted by NTPF Chaplain Gaelene Reilly at the Cenotaph on the Darwin Esplanade at 8:00am.
Church Service: St Mary’s Star of the Sea Cathedral, Smith Street Darwin City, 9:45am.
Katherine:
Graveside of Constable William ‘Bill’ Condon, Katherine Memorial Cemetery, 9:00am. The service will be followed by morning tea at the Cemetery Rotunda.
Tennant Creek
Graveside of Constable Maxwell Gilbert, Tennant Creek Regional Cemetery, 9:00am. The service will be followed by morning tea at Tennant Creek Police Club.
Alice Springs
Service: Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Hartley Street Alice Springs, 10:00am. The service will be followed by morning tea on the lawns adjacent to the church.
Nhulunbuy
Nhulunbuy Police Station, 10:00am. The service will be followed by morning tea at the Nhulunbuy Police Station.
