The NT Police dog squad also raised more than $5,000 for the charity by participating in Run4Blue in May.

Captain of the Run4Blue team Senior Constable Benjamin Stove said he was “incredibly proud” of the efforts.

“They embodied the mission of NT Police Legacy by helping ensure the families of fallen police officers are never forgotten and by supporting one another every step of the way,” Mr Stove said.

“Alongside some healthy competition, participants achieved some impressive personal milestones, including Parkrun personal bests, individual totals exceeding 100km and 250km, and completion of the challenging 65km Standley Monster race along the Larapinta Trail.”

NT Police Legacy was established in 1990 and continues to provide long-term care, connection and financial support to NT police officers and their loved ones.

Its services include education and career grants, social events, and critical assistance for those in the police family facing life without a loved one.
